The difference in the two types sampling techniques is as follows:
Simple random sampling:
- In this type of sampling every individual in the population has equal chance to get selected as a sample. Samples selected by this method represent the entire population.
- The results obtained after such sampling will be generalisable to the entire population.
Convenience Sampling:
- In this type of sampling the individuals who are easily accessible to the researcher are selected. Samples selected by this method do not represent the entire population.
- The results obtained after such sampling will not be generalisable to entire population but only to the selected sample group.
