This post is in responce to your activity in the post titled 'Let's Get Sampling'.

The difference in the two types sampling techniques is as follows:

Simple random sampling:
  1. In this type of sampling every individual in the population has equal chance to get selected as a sample. Samples selected by this method represent the entire population.
  2. The results obtained after such sampling will be generalisable to the entire population.

Convenience Sampling:

  1. In this type of sampling the individuals who are easily accessible to the researcher are selected. Samples selected by this method do not represent the entire population.
  2. The results obtained after such sampling will not be generalisable to entire population but only to the selected sample group.
